Friends of LIBI are an international movement. After its start in 1980, the concept of helping the Israel build a stronger, more socially just society by supporting educational and medical programs in the IDF has spread worldwide.
The US chapter was established in Boston by small group of concerned people at the height of the second intifada. Their initial goal was supplying protective gear for the soldiers battling terrorism. Chapters and activists have spread throughout the country.
The Canadian Friends of LIBI was launched in June of 2010 by a highly successful gala evening in Montreal. Started by closely knit group of dedicated supporters of Israel, it has a great potential for continued success.
The initial overseas chapter was established in France by the pioneering efforts of Gladys Tibi of Paris. She has tirelessly campaigned to raise the profile of the LIBI Fund in France. The Friends of LIBI in France have been highly successful in supporting the soldiers of the IDF.
The UK Friends of LIBI is currently in the process of organizing.
